- Summary: Problems with too many truetype fonts installed?
I recently bought the latest version of Pointless, and I've come across a
problem. Whenever I drag the mouse across the menu bar, and pass all the
menu titles that involve fonts (font, size, style), those menus become
corrupted. Sometimes they'll revert back to normal, but other times they
just come out as screen garbage, and sometimes that results in unexpected
system crashes.
Don't quote me, however, on only the font-related menus from being
corrupted... i _think_ those are the only ones. I tried it in AWGS 1.1 and
Teach.
Anyways, after trying all sorts of solutions (ie. disabling all inits except
the control panel and pointless; REINSTALLING SYSTEM SOFTWARE ;) ; and
reinstalling pointless, I think I've nailed the problem.
TOO MANY FONTS!
My truetype fonts are in my 70-meg HFS partition. After removing all my
fonts from pointless, I added one font, just one, and rebooted. Whoa. NO
menu problems. Reinstall all 174, and the menus mess up. Obviously there's
some correlation here.
Has anyone else come across this problem? Any fixes?
I have a ROM 03 GS with a RamFAST (3.00l roms) and a Zip GSX.
