None taken. It sounds like there's something pretty seriously wrong with the way it's interacting with your serial hardware. I'm not sure what, if anything, can be done about that.
Well, in true windows fashion, if at first you don't succeed, try exactly the same thing again (a few times).
Once I got the GUI to appear, I tried transferring again without the Disk II interface - success (but of course I couldn't save anything). Back with the Disk II interface - this time in slot #6 - and success! Saved EsDOS, ADT DOS and then transferred ADTPRO boot disk.
Booted that, and have created 5.25" PRODOS8 2.0.3 boot disk and PRODOS utility disk, which includes FILER. I've formatted two 3.5" disks now.
I'm currently transferring System 5.0.4 boot disk, soon to be followed by Tools disk.
The I'll look into getting ADTPro running directly off a 3.5" drive, and my Disk II interface and drives can then go back into the Apple IIe.
Having very little experience with Apple II (DOS 3.3), absolutely *NO* experience with PRODOS before tonight and ditto for GSOS, I've got some experimenting and learning to do before I'm ready to attempt to transfer Lode Runner to a PRODOS 3.5" disk...
