I finally caved in and copied a few disks. I used Bernie ][ the Rescue on my beige Power Mac. I formatted the floppies as 800k ProDOS disks in the Finder, then mounted them into Bernie. I also mounted Copy II+ and ran it. After that I mounted the 2mg game disks that I wanted and did a straight disk copy. The games run fine on the IIGS. Of course most Nintendo (called NES these days) games like Mario Bros. would have had to have the same warning.
