Will Ciderpress generate casette tape files from binaries though?
Really what I'm after is the ability to fully communicate with an apple
through the tape in/out ports.   I guess it's not too different than
your apple crate communication protocol, except that I want to go apple
<--> pc rather than apple <--> apple.  The parallel port / game port
communication looks a lot more plausible the more I try to work with
the tape stuff.

FWIW: I figured out how to hear what the tape sounds like by setting
memory location C584 to 0x30 and typing 2000.20fffW -- sounds
interesting, but I can't get a clean recording of the true sound when
done via an emulator and a PC speaker. ;-)  Unfortunately my home and
thus my real apple //e are on the other side of the country right now.
