Re: Getting files from a pc => mac => IIGS and/or a IIe

thanks again for the further comments. I did try to use Protype on the
Mac but it wasn't recognised as a valid file/executable. It wasn't
possible to double click to open it or to drop other files onto it.
Also *.sea files (self extracting archives, right?) aren't recognised
either (on the Mac). Am I perhaps missing some crucial point here? I
should be able to put files on a PC floppy and then the Mac should read
these natively (only with 8.3 filenames I notice). Alternatively I've
been using TransMac Then I should be able to open the the files on the
Mac and optionally run them if they are Mac files.
For some reason this isn't working with the majority of files I
download. the exception being the MacOS 7.5.3 and the 7.5.5 update
which seemed to be fine.

I guess what I need is some Mac software (like ProType perhaps) that
will work for me. Then I can use the localtalk connection to copy the
files over to the IIGS ...

I have to say it's a huge learning curve that can be incredibly
frustrating but I'm sure will be equally rewarding once it all works
... :)

Thanks again,
Steve
