Yes, the Apple II low-level format is incompatible with standard
MFM disk controllers. But this utility (which btw runs only under
plain MS-DOS -- no Windows!) still manages to read Apple II
floppy disks into .DSK format file images on a PC. It can only
read the floppies though, not write to them. And I suppose the
Apple II floppy disk cannot be copy protected, it must be "open".
