Many thanks to all for the replies, very instructive and helpful.

I'm away from the disks for the week - I may give a try with the hole 
thing (which is the only solution left considering that I'll have less 
than 24 hours to transfer the disks) next Saturday, if my brother agrees ;-)

Several disks are faulty - the ony ones I managed to transfer so far are 
(copies of) Flight Simulator II and Test Drive.

Vincent, I'm going to send you an email about Sorcellerie - I suppose 
you speak French ?

PS: apart from Asimov FTP, are there other sources for transfered Apple 
II disks? I'd like to check which ones are already available to limit 
the transfers to the potential missing ones I may have.
