Re: My favorite Apple II

Your post Michael summs up a good bit of my frustration with Syndicomm.
You might have put it more eloquintly than I did though.

I view the content at Syndicomm (chat, message boards, and file
libraries) to be an extremely valuable resource to the Apple II
comunity. But it's exclusivity is what really irks me. By
exclusivity, I strictly mean its lack of outreach and accesibilty to
new/returning Apple II users. If people knew what resources Syndicomm
had to offer, (ie. via VIEW ONLY access to message boards, chat room,
and file library via a common guest account) then more would be
prompted to join. If this meant only 1 new user per month, so be it -
its progress in the right direction. Its the community of A2 users
which makes us stronger and right now the community has a chance to
grow. A2 central is one of the easiest sites to find on the internet
when a new/returning user is looking for "Apple II" information. The
walls of Syndicomm shouldn't hide the valuable resources inside.
Besides, in this day and age on the Internet, people want the chance to
"try before they buy" because they're used to the majority of other
services out there offering some form of it.
