I agree with both you and Michael that it would be nice if non-members
could browse the service and see what it is like and what is
available.  However, it is not my business and I'm sure there are lots
of reasons why it isn't being done.

One reason it might not be done yet is that the system was written
from scratch and I'm pretty sure there is no support for "read only"
users so that would be something that would need to be added to the
system.  As it is written from scratch I'm sure there are lots of bug
fixes and other features that take a higher priority than a "read
only" user to keep the paying members happy.
