As Michael pointed out, the general discussion on the message board tends to be IIgs specific. Myself being an 8-bit developer have had it difficult to start conversation about my projects. When I need help I find much more interest in comp.sys.apple2.programmer that at Syndicomm when it comes to 8-bit development. Again I wish it wasn't this way but that is the way it is. My two cents... If Syndicomm A2 was free, you'd get the same unfiltered garbage you get here. (Note: the sex life A2 post.)
I really do enjoy hanging out int he chat room on occasion and find the company there resourceful and damn helpful at times. But like here there is always the 'random' luck of who is on line and available/not too busy to answer a dumb question.
The main reason you are having a challenge getting you 8-bit development questions answers is because most there use a Mac and emulate a IIgs. And lets face it, in this world most people follow along the technology path as far as they can before jumping to another platform. 8 -> 16 bit even in the Apple Ii world is a natural progression.
Another reason you get more help here is that it is free, more people 'drop by' occasionally. I drop by my friends house more often than a movie theater for the same reason.
Summation: There are valid points for both being here (more people) and on Syndicomm (most of the old Delphi click and virtually no rants.)
