: Although I have been avoiding this thread as it is innane, I
must admit
: I inadvertantly read this section and feel compelled to speak
about
: these two gentlemen.
:
: Having dealt with both Roy and Bill publicly and privately,
they are
: both correct about each other to a point. Both are genuinly
honest and
: caring people and enjoy being right.
:
: Roy is quick to point out a folley and is a bulldog debater,
while Bill
: frequently states opinions as absolulte facts using words like
never and
: always. See the diametric there?
:
: If Roy were a bit less argumentative and Bill was a bit less
absolute,
: where would this discussion be?

Thank you Ed. Being one who highly respects your
views, I agree that, speaking for myself, I do tend
to speak incorrectly, as all of us do at times.
Another example of our ever-failing educational
system? Yet another reason to get to know a person
before beating them over the head? Many times I do
attempt to interpret what is being said by knowing
how the person speaks and thinks. That takes time.
Some don't care to take that time. Some only hear
what we say and interpret it based on how they speak.
I'm happy to know that at least a half-dozen of the
people in CSA2 have taken the time and realize that
what I say is not "always" what I mean. I "never"
worked in PR and hence don't have the skills that
PR people do, but I do know that percentages are
important and when only a mere few can't understand
what I've said, then I am speaking to the majority
and that is good. I'm now adopting a policy of "NO
INVOLVEMENT" when it comes to discussions over what
computer came first and any "bull-dog debaters"
will be ignored. Thanks again Ed.
