AFAIK, the ADU are for SCSI drives only being IDE controllers usually
had their own firmware and utilities, i.e. Focus, Vulcan, MicroDrive.
You may need to install the CD-Rom drivers. Also, some drives work
with GS/OS and some don't. There was a list of do's and don't's on csa2
at one time, and I never cut and pasted it since I had 2 drives that did
work.
What drive are you using and what speed is it?

What

That is what the mod does, and it won't hurt to have term power
supplied from 2 sources. Most have said that the mod is necessary,
but some say they didn't need it. I know the regular Apple SCSI card
needed it on the IIgs but not on the II+ or the //e. Weird.

CD drives don't normally have termination, you may need to add one there.
Also, I have found that SCSI works better on the Apple IIgs when the ID's
are in decending order beginning with the computer and working your way
down from there. Hmmm, yes, I remember having trouble also when the IDE
drive was in a lower slot than the SCSI card. I'll probably be rebuked for
some
of these statements, but hey, I'm getting used to it. Good Luck.
