Well, ease of use comes to mind :)
A bare -11 is a bitch, requiring you to enter programs manually using
a bunch of toggle switches on the console panel, and having a bunch of
lamps (Not LEDs!) as "display".

Later MicroPDPs (Officially "LSI-11" systems) use a serial equivalent of
this.
Furthermore, there are driver issues. the PDP11 isn't a single type of
computer, it's a whole range of more or less compatible devices..
