How (not) to make a PC serial (DB9) to //c+ (mini-din8) cable

In my continuing quest to get ADT working with my //c+, I have made a
cable that does not work.

I connected the following wires:
PC (db9) //c+ (mini-din8)
--------------- -------------------------
  DSR (6) DTR (1)
  DTR (4) DSR (2)
  RxD (2) TD (3)
  TxD (3) RD (5)
  G (5) G (4, 6, 8)

I'm using Hyerterm on Win2k, with the same settings that work fine
with a //e and SSC.

On the //c+, I boot (no DOS) and enter IN#2 and PR#2.
Typing in the PC terminal window does not echo anything to the screen
of the //c+...nor does anything from the //c+ screen show up on the
PC.

Is the built-in serial card on a //c+ mapped to slot 2?

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

TIA,
Chris

PS - here are the PIN diagrams I'm working from:

I found the following pinout diagram (don't remember where...) for the
mini-din8 connector for the //c+ serial port:

    ----v----
   / o o o \
  / 8 7 6 \
 | o o o |
 | 5 4 3 |
  \ o o /
   \ 2 1 /
    ---------

1	DTR green
2	DSR yellow
3	TD purple
4	G black
5	RD orange
6	G blue
7	n/a brown
8	G red

I also found the following for a PC serial port (db9) connector:

 ------------------
 \ 5 4 3 2 1 /
  \ 9 8 7 6 /
   --------------

1	DCD black
2	RxD brown
3	TxD red
4	DTR orange
5	G yellow
6	DSR green
7	RTS blue
8	CTS purple
9	RI grey
