Now, what you call "ooh, it can do more", I see as "why'd he reinvent the
wheel?" If I'm under a preexisting GUI system, I can spend less time
programming the interface mechanics and more time programming the actual
functionality. Besides, writing your own interface is hardly something that
DOS can do that GUIs can't.
