Re: where to go for old mac questions (i know this is an apple group)

The idea of starting a legacy Macintosh newsgroup has certainly popped up
in the past. Try searching for the subject "Proposed group addition" in
csa2 to get an overview of the issues, then you bump into the dynamics of
usenet (which few users, myself included, seem to understand).

But it all comes down to this: there is very little agreement as to where
the Apple ///, Lisa, 68k, and (increasingly) early PPC users belong. Do
we belong in comp.sys.apple2 or comp.sys.mac? In terms of architecture,
the latter makes sense. In terms of culture, the former makes sense.
This really should be evident from how many of us integrate both the Apple
II and older Macintosh computers into our projects.
