Sounds like we both did plenty of experimenting and gnashing of teeth.
My Apple HS SCSI certainly didn't like the Sirius 8MB card when I had
the DMA turned on. I experienced some VERY FUNKY behavior (my IIgs!)
All is well now that I turned DMA off on my HS SCSI card.
