Buy a new battery that has leads on it. Clip the old battery leads off
as close the the battery as possible, leaving the them strait up from
the board. Take the new battery leads and wrap them around a needle or
some similarly small diameter instrument. Slide the new batter with
it's coils onto the wires from the old battery. You can even fold the
tips of the old battery leads over once the new battery is installed to
make sure it stays put but that shouldn't be necessary.
We really should put that up as a project page...
