I haven't even heard of those, so they must be scarce.

AppleWorksGS has a memory test ??? :O I never realized.
I have to be able to boot the System first ! don't I ? And I can't at the
moment with 4MB onboard. 2MB seems OK. Thats why I think some of the chips
are not quite right. The Control Panel thinks it fine, but probably only
does a real basic check, like writing a bank number into it and reading it
back to verify the bank exists.

Yes that's what I like about my GS Juice Plus, I can boot the utility disk,
no GS/OS required, just P8, then you can see which chip is bad. That's how I
fixed my ROM-3 and I had another one chip die today in the GS Juice Plus.
Ran the diag, double check by moving the fault, then swap it out and re-run
the diag. Easy Peasy. :)
And I would _really_ like to get that test program for the GS RAM ULTRA. Any
chance of emailing it ?
