PCL is the standard command set for HP printers, both for graphics and
text output from the computer.  All the formatting commands sent by the
driver are PCL commands.

The only part which is arguably not PCL is the raw ASCII text being sent
(but even that has to obey some rules, e.g. to avoid triggering
accidental PCL commands, the use of control characters, embedded PJL
commands, etc.)
