Re: It's MACOS dammit

Steve,

I for one support your decision to redistribute future versions of
ACOS/BBS/LLUCE. However, please be aware that most people dont take
kindly to kneejerk threats of severe legal action, when in all reality
no-one wants to rip you off.

So, calm down for a second, ok?

As far as segments go, the core GBBS source code is under copyright. However,
new modules, that were written to use the ACOS compiler, that do not contain
any source code from the original GBBS segments are not under copyright, unless
the author of the segment did so. In fact, most of the segments I have used
over the years were considered "freely distributable".

Therefore, charles turley should keep all public domain segments available on
whatever resource is available, and you should continue to sell the product
that allows you to run them.

But *please*, do me a favor, and don't buy into the knee-jerk nathanism
philosophy that everyone here in CSA2 is trying to rip you off. It is simply
not the case!
