You're right, though - versions prior to 2006 didn't save from inside
the client. The BASIC configuration program BLOADed, modified, and
BSAVEd the ADT executable. If you used the config screen from inside
ADT itself, those changes weren't saved. That seemed redundant to me,
and required the two programs to be kept in sync. So I made the
config panel the single point of entry, and eliminated the BASIC bit.
And it had the unintended consequence of losing the ability to have
the Echo speak about it.
