Resources are designed to you let you more easily modify the interface of your
programs without having to recompile the code.  Editing a resource (to say,
change the color or layout of a dialog window) is a lot faster than recompiling
a few thousand lines of Orca/C source.  Resources are also a convenient way to
store multiple copies of data structures.  Other benefits include easier
internationalization, and the ability for experienced users to tweek the
interface of your program to their personal tastes.
