Yes, certainly an idea ahead of its time, but one that _was_ actually
used in the real world. They kind of returned to this with the
Archimedes successors, the Risc-PCs. They had two processor slots,
with one filled with an ARM CPU card by default, and 486 etc cards
available. This machine could run Windows in a window and use the ARM
as a graphics accelerator.

I should also mention that the 6502 "tube" coprocessor has it's own
emulation application in the Archimedes ROM, so it was supported in
the transition.
