Liam,
I have not observed much if any yellowing of the early cases.. and
for good reason -- they are painted with rather thick paint rather
than being colored plastic. The Apple II and II+ cases I have are
intrinsically off white underneath that paint -- on some, where the
paint has worn off, you will see a smooth ivory colored plastic
underneath... but its the paint that's protecting it from yellowing.
IIe's by comparison are not painted cases .. just like all the
beige Apples that followed. With the plastic exposed raw, they do
yellow horribly with UV exposure -- sunshine or fluorescent lighting.
There's a lot of noise lately about moving to Compact Fluorescent
Lighting (CFL) and hastening the demise of incandescent... so will
need to be wary of this for computer rooms.
