We have drifted way off topic, I'm affraid. One last remark.

My Spanish is so bad, that it doesn't matter how incorrect it is
as long as the meaning can be guessed.
On the other hand your English is so good that one may dare
to correct an occasional imperfection.

And of course it's a natural tendency to translate literally
constructions from the language you are thinking in.
