I want just the opposite.  I want a new
IIe motherboard in an old IIe case.  I
prefer the old keyboard layout without
the keypad.  I would also replace the
ROM socket with a ZIF socket so I could
swap in other ROMs (like a II+) easily.
I already have a double-sized video
character ROM with a switch so I can
change from Mousetext to no Mousetext
on demand.

It is also the reason I want one of
those IIgs case upgrades.  I learned
on the original IIe keyboard and want
the same for my IIgs.  It just is not
worth it to me to pay the $150 to $250
those fetch on eBay.
