unfortunately, as I said the drive controller chip on the PCT is cooked as
far as I can establish by the unusual bump on it (that wasn't there when it
was working). and it's not your commonly available TTL or CMOS chip,
otherwise I would have fixed it by now. and micro-minature repair techniques
are no good either at this size. sigh :(
